The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Barbering is a vocational qualification that has been designed to develop barbering skills, listed below, to a high level of occupational ability, and will prepare you to enter the men’s hairdressing sector.

This qualification will develop your knowledge, understanding and skills to enable you to advise and consult with men on the type of haircut and facial hair shaping, but just as importantly what is suitable for them. You will also learn how to work in a safe manner throughout the service protecting both yourself and your clients.


This course is suitable for those looking for a career change who may not have any experience or perfect for experienced hairdressers who want to expand their skills into barbering and enhance their development. This course is for anyone looking at working as a Junior Barber. 16 years old+.


This qualification includes the units to prepare you to work effectively, including:

  • client consultation for hair services
  • cutting men’s hair
  • cutting facial hair
  • following health and safety in the salon

Equipment needed

You will need a professional standard barbering equipment kit that can be purchased directly from our supplier, all equipment is professional grade.
All items are hand-selected by CompanyHQ barbers team and are the best tools in the market for barbering. Included in the kit is a Mike Taylor textbook for learning resources that supplement your practical and theory training and help develop your knowledge and understanding.

Mon 5pm- 8pm, tues 7pm – 9pm, weds 7pm – 9pm

We are happy to offer the ability to pay for your course in instalments, please contact us for more information. Barbering equipment and learning materials can not be included in your finance. Financing can only be applied to courses starting 14 days or more in advance.
